Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex two-time world boxing king Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Mindset
"I will injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead attacked former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning massive financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.
"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Size Difference
As the two fighters participated in the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
